The insured is the person, property interest, or organisation protected by an insurance policy. In life insurance, the insured person is also called the life assured: their death or survival triggers the relevant benefit. Several insured people can be covered under one group insurance arrangement.
A Nepalese business may be the policyholder while its employees are insured under a health plan. The policy schedule should identify the covered people or property accurately. Someone associated with the policyholder is not automatically insured unless the contract includes them.
